Carpentry Apprenticeship Training

- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding
- Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames
- Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.

Terms of Apprenticeship
Related-classroom instruction is administered by ABC-VIRGINIA, and ABC-VIRGINIA provides participating employers with Advisory Apprenticeship Program Standards. Employers participating in the ABC-VIRGINIA Program must register as apprenticeship program sponsors on an individual basis and must register their employees on an individual basis with the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI).
Upon completion of the ABC-VIRGINIA apprenticeship training program, a completed Apprenticeship Action Form will be issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia – Division of Apprenticeship and Training. The completed Apprenticeship Action Form should be submitted to the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) for journeyman testing eligibility.
