YOUNG PROFESSIONALS: HOLIDAY BONE TREATS WITH FETCH A CURE

ABC-VA Young Professionals are invited to this fun volunteer activity of stuffing holiday treat bags for the dogs and puppies of FETCH a Cure. FETCH a Cure is a 501 ©(3) non-profit organization focused on improving the quality of life for pets diagnosed with cancer. Working with pet owners and the veterinary community, FETCH is furthering pet cancer awareness, education and treatment. Snacks and soft drinks will be provided.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS: ANNUAL CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER
Saturday, October 7, 2023  |  11:00AM – 3:00PM
Join us for a day of friendly competition at Hampton Roads’ Annual Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser! This year’s tournament will benefit ForKids. Established in May 1988 to provide emergency shelter to families and children, ForKids has grown to become one of the largest providers of homeless services to families in Virginia. Young Professionals (40 & under) won’t want to miss this exciting day of fun, networking and giving back to the community!

Limited to 32 teams.

CHANGE THE WAY THE WORLD SEES THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

Grit Leads to Greatness, authored and produced by ABC members of Delmarva Veterans Builders, is a magical book created to inspire young minds to consider a career in construction.

THE ASK

We are looking for members of ALL trades to join us in visiting classrooms in your region during Careers in Construction Month in October. We encourage office and field personnel to participate in sharing their career with the children, as well as reading them the book. Each company is encouraged to have multiple representatives participate. Tackling the workforce shortage starts here.

JOIN US ON JUNE 29 TO LEARN MORE!

We will host a Zoom info call for all interested volunteers on June 29 at 12PM. Authors Jenny Kerr Schroen and Chris Eccleston will join us to explain all the details. After the Zoom call, you will let us know if you are 100% committed (and we hope you will be!) This is a joint effort between the ABC chapters of Chesapeake Shores, Greater Baltimore, Metro Washington and Virginia. Between these four chapters, we hope to be in over 180 classrooms in October! That’s 4,500+ students we can teach about the construction trades. We know this is beyond possible thanks to members like you!
