NEC 2020 UPDATE COURSE ABC Virginia is offering the 2020 NEC Update in order to accommodate Continuing Education requirements. The Individual License and Certification Regulations adopted by the Board for Contractors, Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation, on April 1, 2007 (18 VAC 50-30-120) provide that all individuals renewing a journeyman or masters license after December 1, 2007, shall be required to satisfactorily complete a continuing education course from a provider approved by the board. 2 Year Refresher Training for the 24-Hour Competent Person Fall Protection Training In Accordance with ANSI Standard Z359.2 (Conforms to the Refresher Training Requirements of the EM-385-1-1 2014 Edition) July 14, 2023 | 7:00AM-1:00PM Topics Include: A review of the standards covered in the 24-Hour class, and new standards and best practices for fall protection. A hands-on approach to the equipment used including a simulated work task experience. A review of new fall protection equipment. Who Should Attend: Anyone who has taken the 24 hour class within the last 2 years and needs the refresher to continue being a competent person for falls. What To Bring: Bring your personal fall protection harness with you to class. OSHA 3115 - FALL PROTECTION This is a Chesapeake Region Safety Council course - REGISTER HERE September 18 - 20, 2023 | 8:00AM-4:00PM This course covers the OSHA Fall Protection Standard for construction and an overview of fall protection methods.  Course topics include principles of fall protection, components and limitations of fall arrest systems, and OSHA Standards and policies regarding fall protection.  Students will participate in workshops demonstrating the inspection and use of fall protection equipment, residential construction fall protection, training requirements, and developing a fall protection program.  Upon course completion students will have the ability to assess compliance with the OSHA Fall Protection Standard, evaluate installed passive systems and fall arrest systems, and develop and implement fall protection plans.
