From OSHA to CPR, AED & First Aid Certification, and everything in between, ABC-VA offers a multitude of programs to help you deliver your work safely. Supervisor safety workshops are held periodically, along with Train-the-Trainer courses. Don’t see a class you need? ABC National’s world-class safety program, STEP (Safety Management System) is a must for ABC members. Founded in 1989 as a safety benchmarking and improvement tool, STEP has evolved into an unrivaled safety management system that dramatically improves safety performance among participants regardless of company size or type of work. Participating ABC member firms measure their safety processes and policies on 25 key components through a detailed questionnaire with the goal of implementing or enhancing safety programs that reduce jobsite incidents.
STEP Safety Management System
What if your company could be 645% safer than the industry average?
Information for 2023 is due December 15, 2024.
Get the recognition your company deserves with STEP. ABC National’s world-class safety program, the STEP Safety Management System, is a must for members. Founded in 1989 as a safety benchmarking and improvement tool, STEP has evolved into an unrivaled safety management system that dramatically improves safety performance among participants regardless of company size or type of work.
Establishing a safe working environment requires every employer, large or small, and every worker to make safety and health a top priority. The entire workforce – from the CEO to the most recent hire – must recognize that worker safety and health is central to the mission and key to the profitability of the company.
ABC’s STEP program is a 20-point guide to starting, updating or auditing a company-wide safety program. Participants in the program are 645% safer than the industry average. In addition, companies also have an 85% lower incident rate and a 70% lower DART rate. With our safety program, you can highlight your safety excellence to developers, owners, contractors and employees.
The online application features instantaneous STEP level notification and auto-save functionality so members can save their work and complete the application at a later date. Applications are submitted through ABC National.
We’re here to help! Contact Rob Camlin with any questions about STEP.
