The Virginia State Political Action Committee’s (PAC) mission is to help elect state and local pro-merit shop candidates.
Donate to PAC today to help stop the threat to Merit Shop contractors in Virginia.
In 2019, the democrats repealed the Fair and Open Competition Act (FOCA), which banned Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) on Virginia public construction projects. Now, we are challenged with localities across the Commonwealth looking to utilize PLAs to reward their supporters and place the added cost burden on Virginia taxpayers while keeping contractors, like you, from bidding state and local work. The same democratic leaders, in another spending spree, passed prevailing wage legislation. This needs to stop while we have Governor Youngkin in office!
ABC-VA has to take the lead in helping get more business-competent legislators elected this November. All 140 House and Senate seats based on new districts are up for election this year. Two years ago, ABC-VA was very successful in helping the republicans win back the house. We focused on ten races where we could make a difference, and it worked!
Now, in 2023, we need to do the same and focus on key Senate races, along with a few House races, that will make the difference in repealing PLA laws and other anti-business legislation that burdens contractors and businesses overall.
Please help your association as we lead the industry in making Virginia a great state for the construction industry. Our long-term goal is to raise $300,000 to get the right people elected in November 2023.
You can help us with our short-term goal right now: $150,000 by May 7. Click the link below to donate or email ABC-VA President Patrick Dean to donate via check. The ABC-VA chapter, Board and members sincerely appreciate your support.
